Melodi ya Tshwane Choir

The URCSA Melodi ya Tshwane Choir (also referred to as MYTC) is based at the Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa Melodi ya Tshwane congregation, situated in the CBD of the City of Tshwane congregation, Pretoria, at the corner of Bosman and Madiba (formerly Vermeulen) streets, where rehearsals take place.

The choir has been in existence for over a decade and has achieved numerous accolades in various competitions, some of which are:

  • 2012 to 2015 - URCSA intersynodical choir competitions, Senior B overall champions
  • 2016 and 2017 - URCSA intersynodical choir competitions, Senior A overall champions
  • 2015 - Gauteng Choral Music Association, development category champions
  • 2016 - Tshwane Chroal Music Association, standard category 3rd runner up
  • 2017 - Recorded first ever CD.

The choir comprises of talented musicians from various backgrounds and is committed to producing quality music of a high standard and valuable entertainment. Anyone with interest is welcomed to join the choir and can contact the conductor Mr Phahlane on 083 445 6907.

The choir gives special thanks to God almighty, the church council and the congregation of URCSA Melodi ya Tshwane for the evergreen support and presence.
