Communications Committee
Purpose
Melodi ya Tshwane (MyT) is a fairly large congregation consisting of members from about 9 Wards in more than 30 suburbs and townships througout the City of Tshwane. Members of the congregation need to be informed about the congregation's activities and for that reason, communication amongst members is important for the congregation. The purpose of the MyT Communications Committee is to manage the internal and external communications in the congregation by using a variety of communications platforms.
Tasks and Activities
The MyT Communications Committee is tasked with enabling communications amongst congregation members for the following congregation activites:
- Announcements
- Events
- Ward Meetings
- Bearevements
- Newsletters
- Photography during events
- Design of event invitations
This is a summarized list of congregational activities covered by the MyT Communications Committee. There are activities that may be required by other committees and ministries that the Communications Committee may be tasked to cover.
Communications Platforms
The following platforms are used by the MyT Communications Committee to manage communications at MyT:
Some of our committee members are also members of Whatsapp groups belonging to MyT ministries, committees, church council and administritive congregation personnel. This enables the flow of communication between ministries and congregation members. This is an internal communications platform that is limited to internal congregation issues.
The Facebook page managed by the MyT Communications Committe is the official URCSA MyT Facebook page that is updated by the MyT Communications Committe. Congregation members and the general public can find information and updates from MyT such as events, sermons, event vidoes and images and much more media content from MyT. Facebook is both an internal and external communications platform.
Pictures from the photography coverage during events are uploaded on the MyT Instagram profile where congregation members and the general public can view a photo gallery of MyT events and members. The Instragram profile is also used to provide images for the MyT website Gallery. This is both an internal and external communications platform.
Twitter is used by MyT used for campaigns, news coverage and distributing public service announcements and event notices from the congregation to other congregations and the public. The MyT Communications Committee is responsible for the MyT Twitter account. Twitter is both an internal and external communications platform.
YouTube
The MyT YouTube channel contains the videos captured by the MyT Communications Committee during events and activities. It is used as both an internal and external communications platform.
MyT Website
All content from the various social media channels and from the Congregation can be found on the MyT Website. The website is used as both an internal and external communications platform.
